RAWALPINDI, November 03 (APP): The 10th National Olive Festival 2025 concluded at Allama Iqbal Park, Rawalpindi, celebrating Pakistan’s growing olive cultivation and sustainable agriculture potential.
The event was organized by the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi in collaboration with the Olive Foundation. Member National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb, Commissioner Rawalpindi Engineer Amir Khattak, and Director General PHA Rawalpindi Ahmed Hassan Ranjha attended the closing ceremony, along with a large number of citizens, farmers, and industry representatives.

The festival featured beautifully arranged stalls showcasing a diverse range of olive-based products and saplings, highlighting the country’s progress in olive farming and value-added agro-business ventures. PHA Rawalpindi also set up stalls displaying ornamental and fruit-bearing plants to encourage urban greenery and environmental awareness.

During their visit, Aurangzeb, Commissioner Khattak, and DG Ranjha inspected various stalls and praised the efforts of participating organizations and farmers. They emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting olive cultivation and strengthening Pakistan’s agricultural self-reliance.

In recognition of their efforts, Aurangzeb and Commissioner Khattak were presented with traditional Ajraks of Wasib, while DG PHA Ahmed Hassan Ranjha received a ceremonial turban as a token of appreciation for his leadership in organizing the event. Honorary shields were also distributed among the festival organizers and contributors.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ahmed Hassan Ranjha said the National Olive Festival serves as “a tribute to the farmers who have contributed to Pakistan’s progress in the olive sector and played a pivotal role in making the country self-sufficient.”
He added that the festival has emerged as a national platform for promoting olive cultivation, value-added agribusiness opportunities, and sustainable agricultural practices.
The two-day festival concluded Monday night amid wide public participation, reflecting the growing public interest in environmentally sustainable and economically viable farming practices across Pakistan.
