RAWALPINDI, Nov 03 (APP):The Legal Attaché of United States Embassy in Islamabad on Monday met City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani at the Police Lines Headquarters, acknowledging the Rawalpindi Police’s effective policing and professional performance.
According to a police spokesman, the legal attaché presented a certificate of appreciation to CPO Hamdani in recognition of the force’s efficient policing and noteworthy performance, particularly in the prosecution of the Wajiha Swati murder case.
He noted that the Rawalpindi Police had secured exemplary punishment for the accused in the case through “thorough investigation and consistent follow-up of the proceedings”.
The spokesman added that, earlier, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Legal Attaché Chris Watkins had also awarded CPO Hamdani and the Rawalpindi Police a letter and certificate of appreciation for their investigation and the resultant conviction in the same case.
The US official said they were grateful for the robust security arrangements made by the CPO and his team during the hearings of the Wajiha Swati case.
CPO Hamdani said it was a matter of pride that US officials had recognised the services of the Rawalpindi Police and the prosecution, adding that the conviction of the accused in such a serious case was reassuring.
