CSS officers undertake academic, institutional study tour of SAU, laud its role in Agricultural Development

HYDERABAD, Nov 03 (APP): A high-level delegation from the Secretariat Training Institute (STI), Islamabad has praised Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam, as one of Pakistan’s most distinguished agricultural institutions, acknowledging its pivotal role in advancing national agriculture, strengthening the rural economy and addressing climate change challenges.
The delegates commended SAU’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, expressing confidence that the University will continue to lead Pakistan’s agricultural transformation in the years ahead.
According to the SAU spokesperson, the delegation, led by Directors Saadia Bashir and Israr Ahmed, comprised 26 CSS Officers (BS-17) from the Office Management Group, 27 CSS Officers (BS-17) from the Office Management Service Gilgit-Baltistan along with four Deputy Directors and one Staff Officer.
The visiting officers undertook an institutional and academic study tour of the University to explore its educational and research frameworks.
A formal reception was held in honor of the delegation at the senate hall, vice chancellor’s secretariat, presided over by Dr. Inayatullah Rajper, Dean, Faculty of Crop Production. Registrar Ghulam Mohiuddin Qureshi welcomed the delegation and highlighted the University’s role in promoting applied research and modern agricultural education.
During the briefing session, Dr. Abdul Mubeen Lodhi and Dr. Saleem Masih Bhatti presented an overview of the University’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, emphasizing its smart and multimedia classrooms, modern laboratories, advanced research centers and well-equipped academic facilities.
They noted that SAU provides students with extensive opportunities for research, fieldwork and experiential learning, supported by residential and transport facilities that foster academic excellence.
Addressing the gathering, STI Directors Saadia Bashir and Israr Ahmed lauded SAU as a progressive and research-driven institution setting high standards in agricultural higher education. They remarked that the University’s modern academic environment, qualified faculty and forward-looking initiatives reflect both national and international excellence. They further stated that Sindh Agriculture University’s ongoing research and field innovations were laying the foundation for a new era of agricultural resilience and productivity in Pakistan.
The event was attended by Dr. Syed Ghiasuddin Shah Rashdi, Dr. Zaheer Ahmed Nizamani, Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Soomro, Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Khaskheli, Dr. Saba Ambreen Memon, Dr. Imran Khatri, Director Campus Muhammad Ashraf Rustamani, Anwar Hussain Khanzada, Dr. Mohammad Mithal Lund and Public Relations Officer Gul Sher Lochi along with senior faculty members and administrative officers, while assistant commissioner taluka rural Hyderabad Gohar Masroor also attended the event.
Following the ceremony, the delegation visited key facilities including the Faculty of Crop Production, Smart Greenhouse, Horticulture Garden, Latif Farm and Seed Production & Development Center, where they were briefed on practical training and ongoing research projects.
