Rs 4.85b schemes approved for Multan development

MULTAN, Nov 03 (APP):The Divisional Coordination Committee (DCC), comprising legislators and officials, met on Monday under the chairmanship of MPA Salman Naeem and approved development schemes worth Rs 4.85 billion to enhance the infrastructure of Multan, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The meeting was attended by MPAs Syed Ali Haidar Gilani, Malik Nazuk Kareem, Rana Iqbal Siraj, Wasif Mazhar Raan, Mian Kamran Maral, Deputy Commissioner Waseem Hamid Sindhu, and other officials. MNA Ali Qasim Gilani participated via video link.
The DCC praised the administration for its swift response to the recent floods and the quick implementation of relief and rehabilitation efforts for the affected people.
Salman Naeem highlighted that the Chief Minister has prioritized funding for south Punjab to address the development needs of the region. He emphasized that improving infrastructure with a focus on public facilitation is the top priority.
During the meeting, officials from various departments provided detailed briefings on the new schemes. Deputy Commissioner Waseem Hamid Sindhu remarked that regular consultations between elected representatives and officials through the DCC would be a crucial step in achieving excellence in Multan’s development.
He directed officials to ensure transparency in all stages of the schemes’ implementation, stressing that quality of work and materials must not be compromised.
