MULTAN, Nov 03 (APP): Two officers of the Special Branch, Multan Region, died, and seven others were injured when their official vehicle met with an accident near Samundri while returning from Lahore after performing duty at a cricket match.
According to official sources, the victims were identified as Supervisor Technical Staff Qamar Hussain, a resident of Vehari, and Supervisor Zafar Iqbal, a resident of Lodhran, who both embraced martyrdom at the scene of the accident.
The injured officers received immediate first aid before being shifted to the nearest hospital for further medical treatment.
Funeral prayers for the martyred officers will be held at the Police Lines in Multan, with the exact timing to be announced later.
Authorities expressed profound grief over the tragic loss and paid heartfelt tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the Special Branch personnel, who gave their lives in the line of duty.
