Rescue 1122 teams were able to rescue 7,410 individuals, providing first aid to 3,455 people on-site. A total of 2,923 injured persons were shifted to hospitals after receiving initial medical assistance. Unfortunately, 76 individuals lost their lives at the scene despite the efforts of the rescue teams.
Engineer Ubaidullah Khan also pointed out that with the onset of winter, the region has seen an increase in smog and fog conditions, which pose serious risks to commuters. He appealed to citizens to take extra precautions to prevent accidents and ensure community safety. He advised everyone to always wear seat belts and use fog lights when driving, to drive cautiously, and avoid overspeeding, especially in low-visibility conditions. He stressed the importance of maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles and avoiding unnecessary overtaking in foggy weather. He also recommended refraining from travel during dense fog unless absolutely necessary. Additionally, he cautioned against using gas heaters improperly, advising people to switch them off before sleeping and place them outside the room. The safe use of mosquito coils or mats, away from flammable materials, was also emphasized, along with the installation of gas geysers in open areas instead of enclosed spaces to prevent the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Engineer Khan further urged citizens to be mindful of Rescue 1122 ambulances, giving them the right of way to ensure they can reach emergency scenes quickly and save lives. He concluded by reaffirming Rescue 1122’s unwavering commitment to serving the public with professionalism, dedication, and compassion, especially during the challenging winter months.
