ABBOTTABAD, Nov 03 (APP):The Bagnutar Police have arrested the swing operator in connection with a tragic incident occurred at the Harno Amusement Park, a popular recreational, where a young girl lost her life after falling from a swing a couple of days ago.
According to police sources, the unfortunate accident took place on Saturday when the victim was enjoying a ride at the park, which attracts a large number of visitors, especially on weekends.
During the ride, a technical fault allegedly caused the swing to malfunction, resulting in the girl falling from a dangerous height.
Police reached the scene immediately after the incident, shifted the body to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities, and later handed it over to the family after identification.
A case has been registered under Sections 322 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code on behalf of the police. The accused operator, identified as Abbas, son of Fareed, and a resident of Nawan Sheher, has been taken into custody for further investigation.
Incidents of negligence and poor safety measures at local amusement parks have been reported in the region before, raising serious concerns about the lack of proper maintenance and oversight of recreational facilities.
The latest tragedy has once again highlighted the urgent need for strict enforcement of safety regulations to prevent such heartbreaking incidents in the future.
