RAWALPINDI, Nov 01 (APP): Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry has emphasized that Pakistan’s legal fraternity serves as a cornerstone for strengthening democracy, ensuring the rule of law, and delivering justice.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with lawyers to uphold judicial independence and protect citizens’ rights.
Speaking to the media outside the Judicial Complex in Rawalpindi, Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry described the upcoming Punjab Bar Council elections as pivotal for Pakistan’s legal and judicial landscape. He noted that the outcome would not only shape the future of the legal community but also influence the broader justice system.
Referring to the recent Supreme Court Bar Association elections, he said that the victory of the panel backed by the government demonstrated the legal community’s trust in stability, justice, and the supremacy of law.
He expressed optimism that the Punjab Bar Council elections would also bring forward candidates dedicated to the independence of the judiciary and maintenance of peace and order.
Barrister Daniyal said the new bar leadership must continue championing reforms, addressing lawyers’ concerns, and contributing to Pakistan’s progress.
On regional issues, he said Pakistan had held three rounds of discussions with Afghan authorities focused on counterterrorism and regional peace. “Terrorism is a red line for Pakistan,” he stressed, adding that no compromise would be made on the country’s security.
Condemning India’s destabilizing actions, he said that Indian-backed proxies and terrorist activities were unacceptable and would be met with a firm response. “Pakistan’s progress and stability are intolerable for the Modi government, but we will continue to thwart their designs,” he asserted.
Expressing solidarity with Palestine, Daniyal reiterated that Pakistan, along with its armed forces and people, stands firmly with the oppressed Palestinians, particularly the children of Gaza.
Highlighting local development, he announced that long-delayed projects in Rawalpindi, including the revival of the Katchery Chowk project, construction of parking plazas, and new chambers for lawyers, were underway to improve public and professional infrastructure. A signal-free road project, he added, would also ease traffic congestion and facilitate commuters.
Barrister Daniyal said that when the Pakistan Muslim League-N resumed governance, the country was in a severe crisis, but under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, economic stability and Pakistan’s international standing were being restored.
“Today, Pakistan is moving towards peace, development, and stability,” he remarked. “The PML-N has always prioritized public welfare, health, and education, and under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, we will continue to set new benchmarks for development, justice, and rule of law,” he concluded.
