On the opening day, Dr. Amjad Gulzar Shaikh, along with his medical team including Dr. Khalid Chishti and Nishtar Hospital administration, conducted the initial medical assessments of the registered children. The team will continue to evaluate and perform surgeries throughout the camp’s duration.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Shaikh said that the initiative reflects NJ Welfare Trust’s commitment to serving humanity by restoring mobility and dignity to children suffering from congenital deformities. He appreciated the cooperation extended by Nishtar Hospital’s management and medical staff for facilitating this humanitarian effort.
Hospital officials stated that hundreds of children from across South Punjab are expected to benefit from the camp, terming it a “life-changing opportunity” for underprivileged families who cannot afford specialized orthopedic treatment.
