FAISALABAD, Oct 31 (APP): Punjab Minister for Labour & Human Resource Manshaullah Butt paid an extensive visit to the Social Security Hospital Madina Town here on Thursday and inaugurated Maryam Nawaz Wellness Centre.
The minister was briefed that Maryam Nawaz Wellness Centre would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 170 million up to December this year. The project would help provide quality healthcare to the working class and their families.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, he said that welfare and healthcare of labour community are among the top priorities of Punjab government. He said that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz, revolutionary reforms are being introduced in the health sector by focusing on better facilities, upgraded infrastructure and people-friendly services.
He emphasized that cleanliness, timely medicine supply and staff courtesy must be maintained in all hospitals.
He said that CT scan machine at Social Security Hospital would soon become functional while Social Security Laboratory has already been upgraded to enhance diagnostic services.
He highlighted future initiatives and said that Maryam Nawaz Ration Card would soon be distributed among workers to enable them to purchase essential kitchen items at subsidized rates.
“The ration card scheme will bring a meaningful change in the economic lives of deserving workers”, he added, reaffirming the government’s commitment to the protection, welfare and well-being of the labour class across the province.
He inspected medical facilities, staff attendance and patient services and expressed satisfaction over the standards of healthcare being provided.
He directed the hospital administration to ensure modern medical equipment, patient comfort and a courteous service culture.
He also planted a sapling in the hospital premises as part of the province’s green initiative.
Meanwhile, the minister also visited Kailash Social Security Hospital Millat Town and inspected several sections including medicine store, counter check area, dengue and dialysis wards, cardiac unit and laboratories.
He personally interacted with the patients to inquire about their treatment.
He appreciated the hospital’s performance and said that Social Security Hospitals are being upgraded on modern lines to ensure efficient service delivery.
Medical superintendent, professors, specialist doctors and Labour Department officials were also present on the occasion.
