LB elections in Quetta to be held soon: Provincial Election Commissioner

QUETTA, Oct 31 (APP):Provincial Election Commissioner Ali Asghar Sial on Friday announced that local body elections in Quetta would be held soon in accordance with the directives of the Balochistan High Court.
He confirmed that preparations were in final stages and that the official election schedule would be released in the first week of November.
Speaking at a press conference at the Provincial Election Commission office, Ali Asghar Sial said that elections would be conducted in 641 wards under 172 Union Councils, based on the existing delimitations.
He urged political parties to review the voter lists and ensure their supporters are properly registered.
The Provincial Election Commissioner made a strong appeal to the public, emphasizing that citizens whose votes are not yet registered in their respective wards should do so immediately. Once the election schedule is announced, no further voter registrations will be accepted, he said.
Ali Asghar Sial assured that foolproof security arrangements will be in place to ensure peaceful elections. He stated that Police and Frontier Corps (FC) will be deployed during the elections.
On a question, he also noted that the provincial assembly election for the Kalat seat is currently delayed due to security concerns.
