MUZAFFARGARH, Oct 31 (APP):A suspect was arrested in an injured condition,while two of his accomplices managed to escape during a police encounter in the Rohilanwali area of Muzaffargarh last night.
According to a police spokesperson, the team had set up a checkpoint on Basti Jalal Pointa–Malana road when three unidentified armed suspects opened indiscriminate fire upon seeing the police party. The police returned fire in self-defense, leading to an exchange of gunfire.
Following the encounter, the police conducted a search operation and found a suspect lying in injured condition which was later identified as Sheeraz, while his two accomplices escaped under the cover of darkness.
The injured suspect was shifted to hospital for medical treatment.
Police spokesperson further stated that the arrested suspect was a notorious criminal, wanted in 27 cases of robbery, dacoity, and possession of illegal weapons, registered at various police stations across the district.
