MIRPUR  ( AJK ), Oct 31 (APP):A full court condolence reference has been arranged to pay  tributes to the late senior lawyer Haji Muhammad Afzal here at the AJK Supreme Court Registry Branch.
Chief Justice Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan chaired the ceremony.
Judge Supreme Court Justice Raza Ali Khan,  senior lawyers of the AJK Supreme Court, High Court and District Bar Association, attended the condolence reference.
Deputy Registrar Supreme Court, Iftikhar Shaukat was also present on the occasion.
The condolence reference was addressed by Chief Justice Azad Jammu and Kashmir Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan, Advocate General of Azad Kashmir Sheikh Masood Iqbal, Vice Chairman Bar Council, Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Advocate, Secretary General Supreme Court Bar Association, Chaudhry Rashid Rashid Advocate, President High Court Bar Association, Raja Waseem Younis Advocate, General Secretary District Bar Association, Chaudhry Fayyaz Advocate, Chaudhry Liaquat Afzal Advocate, while former Advocate General Masood A Sheikh, former President  Supreme Court Bar Association Javed Najam Al-Saqib Advocate, Former President High Court Bar Association Babar Azam Advocate, Kamran Tariq Advocate, Information Officer M Javed Malik and senior lawyers were also present at the ceremony.
The chief justice  speaking on this occasion, said “as per religious tradition, we have gathered today to pay tribute to the late senior lawyer Haji Muhammad Afzal. While his family is deeply saddened by his death, the Azad Kashmir judiciary also shares his grief”, he added.
” He was a great lawyer of high standing who always put the dignity of the judiciary first. Even if there was a harsh word from the court, he never angered the court. The glory of a lawyer is that he never gets involved with the court. Such an act teaches guidance to young lawyers”,  the chief justice said.
