GUJRAT, Oct 30 (APP): A meeting of the Consumer Protection Council was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Saba Sehar on the directions of Secretary Price Control and Commodities Department Punjab Kiran Khurshed and Deputy Commissioner Gujrat Noor ul Ain Qureshi.
The meeting reviewed the status of pending applications, consumer rights protection measures, and ongoing awareness campaigns.
Officials said that, under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, district consumer courts have been established across Punjab, with District and Additional District Judges empowered to ensure timely redressal of public grievances.District Officer for Consumer Protection Chaudhry Farooq briefed that over 600 applications have been received from all tehsils of Gujrat.
The meeting decided to intensify awareness drives on consumer rights through social media and other outreach platforms.Deputy Director of Agriculture Athar Latif, Consumers Association President Munawar Khokhar, and other officials also attended the meeting.
