PFA discards 320kg unhygienic meat

MULTAN, Oct 30 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) continued its crackdown on sale of unhygienic and unfit meat and discarded 320 kilograms of unhygienic meat in Dunyapur.
In the latest operation, a team led by Deputy Director Operations Tahir Saeed raided an illegal slaughterhouse in Hammad Town, Qutubpur Sadat, Dunyapur.
During inspection, officials discovered meat from sick animals, which a veterinary doctor declared unfit for human consumption. Acting on the report, the PFA food safety team immediately disposed of 320 kilograms of contaminated meat on the spot and registered an FIR against the owner of the slaughterhouse.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director General PFA  said that indiscriminate operations against those endangering citizens’ health were underway.
