TANK, Oct 30 (APP):Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Tank, Asif Mehmood Khan, organized a one-day training workshop on Thursday for station clerks (Muharrars) to implement the Police Station Record Management System (PSRMS) and the online Criminal Record Office (CRO) system at the police station level.
The workshop, held at the SP Investigation Office, was attended by DSP City Pervez Shah Khan, In-charge Investigation Shaheed Mureed Akbar Police Station Inspector Saleem Khan, In-charge Investigation City Police Station Sub-Inspector Saleem Khan, and record clerks from all police stations across the district. Participants received detailed training on the use, importance, and operational procedures of the PSRMS and CRO systems.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Investigation Asif Mehmood Khan said that introducing a digital record management system would make police investigations faster, more transparent, and efficient, while minimizing the risk of record loss. “From the initiation of a case to its final outcome, every detail will now be accessible with just one click,” he added.
He said the purpose of PSRMS and CRO is to promote digital transparency, ensure quick access to data, and provide timely information to investigation officers. He directed all station clerks to upload every FIR on PSRMS the same day it is registered manually, including complete details such as CNIC numbers, contact information of complainants and accused persons, and related data.
SP Asif Mehmood further instructed that all 27 registers of each police station — including daily diaries, staff records, case files, supplementary reports, sureties, and court decisions — be fully digitized and uploaded to the system. He emphasized the timely completion of CRO records to avoid delays in investigations.
Calling the digitalization of police records a “transformative step,” the SP said the initiative would not only ensure transparency but also significantly enhance institutional efficiency. He advised police stations facing shortages of computers, scanners, cameras, or fingerprint devices to submit their requirements immediately so that resources could be provided without delay.
Concluding the session, SP Investigation Asif Mehmood Khan urged all participants to play an active role in making the system fully functional and reliable, enabling District Tank to emerge as a model of modern and transparent policing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
