SUKKUR, Oct 30 (APP):Barrister Arsalan Islam Sheikh, Mayor Sukkur and Spokesperson for the Government of Sindh, met with Bakhit Ateeq Al Remeithi, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday to discuss mutual interests and explore opportunities for cooperation.
The meeting, held in a cordial atmosphere, focused on enhancing bilateral ties in trade, investment, education, health, and development projects. Barrister Arslan Sheikh extended a special invitation to the Consul General to visit Sukkur, encouraging him to witness firsthand the city’s socio-economic and commercial potential.
“Sukkur is an emerging hub of trade and education in Sindh, with our government prioritizing public welfare, infrastructure development, and investment promotion,” the Mayor stated. He expressed gratitude for the Consul General’s facilitation of visa services for Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industries members, which will bolster trade relations between the two regions.
Discussions also covered the establishment of a five-star hotel and a dry port in Sukkur, aiming to streamline business activities and attract regional and international investment.
The Mayor Sukkur also affirmed the Government of Sindh’s commitment to transforming Sukkur into a modern commercial center and accelerating development across the province.
