MANSEHRA, Oct 30 (APP):Mansehra police foiled an attempted robbery during a successful encounter with armed robbers, resulting in the death of one suspect and the arrest of another in injured condition, while weapons were also recovered from their possession.
According to police sources, the encounter took place when a police team engaged with armed criminals involved in multiple incidents of robbery and highway looting in the district. During the exchange of fire, Fazal, son of Jan Muhammad, a resident of Data, was killed on the spot, while his accomplice Arbaz sustained injuries and was arrested.
Police have also recovered illegal weapons used in the crime, while a search operation with heavy contingents is underway to arrest another accomplice who managed to flee the scene.
District Police Officer (DPO) Mansehra, Shafiullah Gandapur, appreciated the police team for their timely and professional response, stating that Mansehra police are fully alert to protect the lives and property of citizens.
He reaffirmed that no criminal or anti-social element will be allowed to operate in the district, and those violating the law will be brought to justice and made an example for others.
