ISLAMABAD, Oct 30 (APP):A delegation from the 27th National Security Workshop visited the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Headquarters, on Thursday where they received an in-depth briefing on Pakistan’s proactive and integrated disaster management framework.
NDMA officials elaborated on the Authority’s mandate, organizational structure, and its nationwide framework for disaster risk reduction, preparedness, and response.
Participants were also briefed on NEOC’s round-the-clock monitoring and coordination functions, including real-time data sharing, early warning dissemination, and inter-agency collaboration for effective national-level emergency management.
NDMA experts highlighted that NEOC’s state-of-the-art monitoring and forecasting systems enable timely communication of early warnings to relevant departments, ensuring swift preventive and preparedness actions.
The team further explained NDMA’s use of technology-driven tools and centralized coordination mechanisms to strengthen planning, risk communication, and operational readiness during events such as Monsoon 2025.
The visiting delegation appreciated NDMA’s forward-looking strategy and commitment to enhancing Pakistan’s disaster resilience through anticipatory planning and coordinated response mechanisms.
The visit concluded with an interactive discussion in which the participants exchanged insights on strengthening national disaster management capabilities and institutional collaboration.
