Layyah police recover looted goods worth Rs. 34.4m

LAHORE, Oct 29 (APP):The Layyah police, under the leadership of District Police Officer Capt (retd) Muhammad Ali Waseem, recovered stolen property and cash worth over Rs. 34.4 million during September.
The operation was carried out in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar to ensure public safety and protection of citizens’ property.
According to police spokesperson, police registered 290 criminal cases of various nature and recovered valuables including 37 stolen motorcycles, solar motors, plates, inverters, mobile phones in 113 cases, and livestock in 40 cases. Cash amounting to more than Rs 15.1 million was also recovered and handed over to the rightful owners.
A ceremony was held at Police Lines Layyah, presided over by DPO Muhammad Ali Waseem and attended by Vice Chancellor University of Layyah Dr. Zubair Abu Bakar, DSPs, SHOs, political and social figures, media representatives, and citizens. During the event, the recovered items and cash were returned to their owners.
On the occasion, DPO Muhammad Ali Waseem said that no leniency would be shown towards criminals involved in depriving citizens of their belongings, emphasizing that protection of life, property, and honor of the people remains the foremost duty of the police. He appreciated the performance of police personnel and distributed cash prizes and commendation certificates among the officers for their outstanding performance.
