PFA sealed three snack factories

LAHORE, Oct 29 (APP):Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Wednesday sealed three snack factories.
According to a spokesperson, PFA conducted a crackdown in Aziz Bhatti Town, Ghaziabad and Rehmanpura and sealed three snack factories, imposing fine amounting Rs.115,000.
The teams also discarded 240 liters of substandard oil and a large quantity of prohibited ingredients.
DG PFA Asim Javed said that the units were sealed for failing to comply with previously issued warnings.
The inspection teams found poor hygiene conditions and absence of medical certificates for workers.
“As per reports, the factories were preparing nimko on broken floors, using rusty utensils and unregistered labels for packaging, ”said DG Asim Javed.
He added that contaminated oil was used for frying,while rats, lizards and flies were found in abundance at the premises.
