LAHORE, Oct 28 (APP):On the special directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, comprehensive measures have been taken to facilitate participants attending the annual Tablighi Ijtima in Raiwind.
Lahore Highway Division has expedited patchwork and maintenance of all major roads leading to the Tablighi Markaz and adjoining areas to ensure smooth movement and safety of participants.
According to a briefing given to the Chief Minister, here on Tuesday, a total of 13 development projects worth Rs. 5.68 billion have been completed, covering nearly 70 kilometers of roads, while the Punjab government achieved savings of Rs. 600 million through transparent tendering. Four key connecting roads in Raiwind have been fully repaired, with potholes filled, shoulders restored, and road markings renewed, giving the area a refreshed and illuminated look ahead of the congregation.
Officials informed that on Sundar–Raiwind Road up to Ijtima Chowk, patchwork and lane marking have been completed, while Mian Ji Abdullah Road and a 2-kilometer stretch from Sundar to Markaz have undergone full rehabilitation. Similarly, an 11-kilometer section from Pajian Bypass to Bachoki Phatak and a 2.5-kilometer portion of Railway Road have been reconstructed to provide smooth travel facilities to visitors.
They added that these 13 infrastructure projects have significantly enhanced accessibility for thousands of participants attending the annual Tablighi Ijtima. Development works across Manga Mandi, Lake City, Sue Asal, Jia Baga, Sundar, Mian Ji Abdullah Road, Pajian Bypass, and Railway Road have been completed in record time, ensuring convenience, safety, and improved travel experience for all visitors.
