ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (APP):Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday met with a delegation from Meta Platforms led by Director of Public Policy for South and Central Asia, Sarim Aziz.
During the meeting, the Meta delegation briefed Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on recent developments related to Meta AI and the new safety features introduced for teen accounts on Instagram.
The delegation shared that Instagram accounts for children will now include enhanced messaging restrictions and automatic filtering of inappropriate language to ensure safer online interactions.
They also informed that Instagram plans to introduce time limits for young users, sending alerts after one hour of screen time to promote healthy digital habits.
The discussion also covered legislative proposals and policy suggestions concerning the responsible use and regulation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said Pakistan’s youth are ready to embrace the digital era responsibly and are adapting positively to the technological changes driven by AI.
He appreciated Instagram’s new features for child protection, describing them as a welcome step for parents concerned about their children’s online safety and digital well-being.
