ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (APP):Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, on Tuesday visited the ongoing Shaheen Chowk Underpass project to review the pace of construction work aimed at easing traffic congestion in the federal capital.
During the visit, Randhawa was accompanied by Member Engineering, Syed Nafasat Raza, and other senior CDA officials.
The Chairman received a detailed briefing from the engineering team on the current progress, including excavation work which is said to be advancing rapidly.

Officials informed him that construction activities are being carried out around the clock to ensure the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Emphasising timely delivery and quality assurance, the CDA Chairman directed that “the project must be completed according to its schedule, with no compromise on construction standards.”
He further instructed the Project Director and Resident Engineers to maintain strict supervision of all on-site work to ensure efficiency and safety.
Highlighting the project’s significance, Randhawa said the Shaheen Chowk Underpass would mark “a major milestone in eliminating traffic bottlenecks in Islamabad.”
He added that the new infrastructure would provide a signal-free route for commuters, particularly benefiting students and residents of nearby educational institutions and neighbourhoods.
The Shaheen Chowk Underpass is one of several infrastructure projects currently being undertaken by the CDA to improve mobility and reduce travel time across Islamabad’s main corridors.
Once completed, the project is expected to significantly ease vehicular flow between key sectors, contributing to a smoother and more sustainable urban transport network in the capital.
