DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Oct 28 (APP):The district administration of Tank has intensified its crackdown against profiteers to ensure the provision of quality and affordable food items to citizens under the provincial government’s public agenda.
In this regard, Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Tank, Malik Sajid Ali Khan, paid surprise visits to various poultry shops in the Tank Bazaar.
According to the administration, during the inspection, several violations were detected, including overcharging, absence of official price lists, sale of stale poultry meat, and poor hygiene conditions.
Taking prompt action, the AAC imposed fines on shopkeepers found to be involved in violations. Moreover, the extra amount charged from customers was immediately refunded on the spot.
Speaking on the occasion, AAC Malik Sajid Ali Khan said that ensuring clean, safe, and quality food items for the public was among the top priorities of the district administration.
He added that such inspection drives would continue without discrimination to protect consumers’ rights.
He added that maintaining transparency, discipline, and hygiene in local markets was a key component of the provincial government’s public agenda, and strict enforcement would be ensured at all levels.
