ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP):The Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) on Monday installed an eco-friendly bench at the National Press Club (NPC) in Islamabad, made entirely from seized single-use plastic, aimed at promoting sustainable recycling and raising public awareness.
The formal handover ceremony was supervised by Pak-EPA Director General Nazia Zeb, who handed the bench over to Nayyer Ali, Secretary General of the NPC. “This initiative demonstrates our commitment to turning confiscated plastic waste into valuable, environmentally friendly products,” DG Zeb said.
The bench was produced in collaboration with a Lahore-based recycling company, using plastic recovered from anti-plastic raids in Islamabad.
Officials confirmed that a second recycled bench will soon be donated to the NPC as part of Pak-EPA’s ongoing environmental awareness campaign.
Senior Pak-EPA officers, including Dr Zegham Abbas and Rashid Cheema, attended the ceremony.
DG Zeb also announced that Dr Zegham Abbas has been appointed as the agency’s focal person for all media inquiries, urging journalists to contact him for updates and clarifications on environmental issues.
