LAHORE, Oct 27 (APP):Sanda Police, in an intelligence-based operation, arrested a notorious drug peddler on Monday, dismantling a major narcotics operation in the area.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Iqbal Town, Dr. Muhammad Umar, identified the arrested suspect as Asif alias Asoo, a listed drug dealer who had been wanted by the police in multiple narcotics-related cases. Acting on a tip-off, the police team successfully apprehended the accused from Street Ilyas (Gari Wali Gali) in the Sanda area.
Dr. Umar confirmed that Asif was involved in selling crystal meth (Ice) in the region. During the operation, more than one kilogram of Ice was recovered from his possession. A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation has been handed over to the Investigation Wing for deeper inquiry.
SP Dr. Umar commended SHO Sanda Sharjeel Awan and his team for their efficient work in combating the drug trade. He emphasized that the police would not tolerate any leniency towards individuals or groups destroying the youth through drugs, reaffirming the department’s commitment to ridding the community of such criminal elements.
