FAISALABAD, Oct 27 (APP):Punjab Food Safety teams launched a crackdown on food adulteration across the district on Monday, imposing a total fine of Rs. 386,000 on 29 food outlets for violating health and safety regulations.
The teams conducted inspections of 291 food points, identifying 123 outlets with violations. Notices were issued to these outlets, while fines were levied on the offending businesses. The authorities also took immediate action by disposing of 25 liters of substandard oil, 10 dozen rotten eggs, 12 kg of expired jams, 5 kg of sweets, and 15 kg of various food items.
In addition to the fines, one FIR was registered, and one outlet was sealed for the violations. Another outlet was issued a notice for improvement, and four food samples were sent for lab analysis to ensure food safety standards.
Deputy Director (Operations) of the Punjab Food Authority emphasized that the primary goal is to ensure quality and hygiene in food provided to the public. The Food Safety teams will continue their efforts to protect consumers from substandard food products and uphold strict food safety regulations.
