KARACHI, Oct 27 (APP):The Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) observed the Kashmir Black Day on Monday against the occupation of Kashmir by India on October 27,1947.
In this regard a rally was organised within the premises of the university which demonstrated solidarity with the people of the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The rally was commenced from the Main Building and was culminated near the I.T. Tower of the university. Dean Dr. Jamshed Adil, Registrar Ghulam Mustafa Shaikh, and other officials led the rally.
Heads of different departments, faculty, students and other employees participated the rally. The participants chanted slogans against India and in support of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Prior to it, a program was held at the Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto auditorium of the university, where speakers termed the 27th October as a darkest day of the history and condemned India’s occupation of Kashmir. They also condemned India for its brutalities and inhuman actions continued against the Kashmiri’s since 1947.
They said that Pakistan observes black day to support Kashmiri people for their right to get self-determination from India.
The speakers also condemned India for not implementing the resolutions passed by the United Nations on the occupied Kashmir on various times.
Dr. Jamshed Adil Halepoto, Dean of SMIU in his speech said that Government and the people of Pakistan fully support Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination and condemn India for use of its forces against innocent Kashmiri people.
He said we all stand with the Kashmiri people and appeal the world to voice for these voiceless people who struggle for their rights since 27th October 1947.
The event was attended by Deans including Dr. Jamshed Adil, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Khan, heads of different departments, faculty, officers and students.
