A Call to Conscience Against India’s Unlawful Occupation on Kashmir’s Black Day: AJK Legal fraternity elder

MIRPUR (AJK), Oct 27 (APP):Javed Najam-ul-Saqib, Advocate, former President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Supreme Court Bar Association, has said that October 27, 1947 marks one of the darkest and most tragic chapters in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, the day when India, in defiance of international norms and the will of the Kashmiri people, landed its paratroopers in Srinagar and imposed an illegal occupation that continues to this day.
Talking to reporters here on the eve of Kashmir Black Day observed  on Monday, he stated that for seventy-eight years, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have remained steadfast in their struggle for freedom and the right to self-determination, shedding their blood and making unparalleled sacrifices.
Najam-ul-Saqib reaffirmed full support for the Government of Pakistan and the Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir for their unwavering, principled, and fact-based stance on the Kashmir issue.
He appreciated Pakistan’s consistent efforts to highlight the Kashmir cause at international forums including the United Nations, the OIC, and global human rights bodies.
He urged the international community to go beyond rhetoric and take tangible action to stop demographic engineering, enforced disappearances, and the suppression of political and religious freedoms in the occupied valley.
Paying tribute to the Armed Forces of Pakistan, he lauded their professional excellence, courage, and achievements in safeguarding national sovereignty and regional stability. “The success of Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsous symbolizes Pakistan’s readiness and resilience in the face of all threats,” he said.
He also expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine, terming their suffering a mirror image of the Kashmiri tragedy.
He called on the Muslim Ummah and the international community to adopt a uniform standard of justice by condemning all forms of occupation, oppression, and apartheid.
