BAHAWALPUR, Oct 27 (APP):On the occasion of Kashmir Black Day, Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, delivered a special message highlighting the significance of October 27, 1947, as a dark chapter in history.
He remarked that on this day, Indian troops landed in Kashmir, marking the beginning of a prolonged freedom struggle that continues to this day. Dr. Kamran emphasized that the fourth generation of Kashmiris is still fighting for their right to self-determination.
Dr. Kamran also condemned the Indian government’s actions, particularly the revocation of Kashmir’s special status, which he described as an attempt to erase the region’s unique identity and suppress its freedom movement. He pointed out that the Indian government’s strategy to divide the region into different parts aims to crush the Kashmiri struggle for independence. Recalling the words of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who famously referred to Kashmir as “the Aorta of Pakistan,” Dr. Kamran reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Kashmir. He also referenced Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif’s efforts in presenting the Kashmir issue as a global concern at the United Nations General Assembly, a move that intensified India’s oppressive actions against the Kashmiri people.
Dr. Kamran concluded with a message of hope, stating that the day is not far when Kashmiris will finally experience the freedom they deserve.
