Health dept intensifies anti-dengue operations

BAHAWALPUR, Oct 27 (APP):Following the instructions of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) District Health Authority Dr. Amir Bashir, anti-dengue surveillance and sweeping activities have been significantly ramped up across Bahawalpur. Additional staff has been deployed throughout the city to ensure the timely detection and elimination of dengue larvae.
District Health Officer (Preventive Services) Dr. Muhammad Rana Arshad visited several areas to monitor field activities and directed the teams to intensify efforts in identifying larvae, maintaining cleanliness, and raising public awareness about dengue prevention.
District Coordinator IRMNCH Dr. Ahmad Fawad also instructed field staff, Lady Health Supervisors (LHS), and Lady Health Workers (LHWs) to conduct door-to-door surveillance and educate citizens about effective dengue prevention measures.
Deputy District Health Officer (Headquarters) Dr. Owais Arif conducted inspections of field operations, reviewing team performance and emphasizing the need for immediate action at any suspected sites to prevent the virus from spreading further.
CEO Dr. Amir Bashir appealed to the public to maintain cleanliness in their homes, workplaces, and surroundings, avoid stagnant water, and promptly report any presence of larvae to the Health Department helpline to assist in dengue control efforts.
