KARACHI, Oct 27 (APP):The PCB Talent Hunt Programme for School Cricket (Karachi Region) continued with four more exciting matches decided across various city grounds. Five Star School, Beaconhouse School, The City School, and Bahria College & School emerged victorious after impressive team performances.
At the Jinnah College Ground, Five Star School defeated Wahaj School by 7 wickets. Wahaj School were bundled out for 75 in 16.5 overs, with Omar Shaikh scoring 27. For Five Star, Abdullah Ahmed and Muhammad Anas claimed three wickets each, returning figures of 3/22 and 3/28, while Ali Irtiza took 2/11. In reply, Five Star chased down the target in just 8.2 overs, reaching 76/3, thanks to Muhammad Murtaza’s 23 and Zaid Siddiqui’s 20.
At the NED University Ground, Beaconhouse School outclassed Kamran Public School by 7 wickets. Kamran Public School posted 173 all out in 39.3 overs, with Mattiullah (46), Syed Zain Ali (33), and Syed Shanz Baqar (28) leading the scoring. Saad Shahzad bowled brilliantly for Beaconhouse, taking 4/13, while Mohib Nasir and Rana Hamza took two wickets each. Beaconhouse chased down the target with ease, finishing at 176/3 in 25.5 overs. Muhammad Shah Zain led the chase with 61 (5 fours, 4 sixes), supported by Mohib Nasir with 46 not out and Furqan Akram with 21.
In the third match at Darul Uloom Korangi Ground, The City School edged out Hira Foundation School by 16 runs. Batting first, The City School scored 229/8 in 40 overs, powered by Umer Shaheryar’s 60, Azan Munir’s 51, and Muhammad Hassan Shah’s 43. Maaz Maqbool picked up 3/54 for Hira Foundation. In response, Hira Foundation fell short, bowled out for 213 in 38.4 overs despite strong contributions from Muhammad Aqil (71), Fakharuddin (51), and Maaz Maqbool (38). Akmal Shirazi took 3/46, while Moiz Farooqui grabbed 2/23 for The City School.
At the IBA University Ground, Bahria College & School defeated The Next School by 16 runs in a low-scoring encounter. Bahria were bowled out for 129 in 28.1 overs, with Muhammad Burhan top-scoring with 36 and Habibullah adding 17. For The Next School, Hasan Siddiqi was the pick of the bowlers with 3/15, while Hayyan Ahmed, Hanzala Fazal, and Inshal Nawab claimed two wickets each. In reply, The Next School managed 113 all out in 30.1 overs, with Hanzala Fazal (28) and Inshal Nawab (21) fighting hard. M. Siyyam took 3/20, while Areeb Danish and Muhammad Athar chipped in with two wickets each to seal the win for Bahria.
