ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP):Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal on Monday said that the government’s Uraan Pakistan vision would build a strong national economy based on knowledge, innovation and technology-driven development.
“Pakistan will produce 5,000 specialized scientists and engineers in this field and position itself among the top 30 nations in material innovation,” he said while addressing the International Symposium on Advanced Materials at the National Centre for Physics here.
He said Islam strongly encouraged the pursuit of modern knowledge and scientific advancement.

He said the government was establishing the Dr A.Q. Khan Institute of Material Sciences, which would serve as a hub for cutting-edge research, industrial partnerships and the training of young scientists.
The minister further shared that under Vision 2035, the government planned to establish five national research and development clusters in material sciences and promote 100 university–industry partnerships to strengthen innovation capacity.
