ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP):Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal on Monday expressed confidence that the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) would ultimately succeed in their indigenous freedom struggle due to their resilience in the face of decades-long oppression.
“We stand with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters, and we will continue to stand by them until their struggle reaches its rightful conclusion,” he said in a statement on the occasion of Kashmir Black Day, observed every year on October 27.
He said the day served as a grim reminder of the illegal Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, imposed against the will and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
“India forcibly occupied Jammu and Kashmir in blatant disregard of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination,” the minister said.
He reiterated that Pakistan would continue to extend its political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri people until they achieve their legitimate right to self-determination in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.
“The sacrifices of the Kashmiri people will never go in vain,” he asserted, emphasizing that India has failed to suppress the voice of the Kashmiri people despite decades of oppression.
