ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP):Deputy Chairman of the Senate Syedaal Khan on Monday said that October 27, 1947, marked one of the darkest chapters in history when India forcibly occupied Jammu and Kashmir in violation of international laws, moral principles, and fundamental human rights.
In his message on Kashmir Black Day, he said the entry of Indian troops into Srinagar began a saga of oppression and tyranny that history can never forget.
Syedaal Khan said the resilient people of Kashmir have been rendering unparalleled sacrifices for their right to self-determination for decades. Despite relentless Indian atrocities, he added, their courage and resolve remain unshaken.
He said the revocation of Articles 370 and 35-A on August 5, 2019, was a nefarious attempt to strip Kashmiris of their identity, stressing that India’s unilateral actions were in blatant violation of United Nations resolutions and international law.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering political, moral, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri cause, the Deputy Chairman said Pakistan would continue to stand by its Kashmiri brothers and sisters until they achieve their legitimate right to self-determination.
He said the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs and leaders would be inscribed in golden letters in history, adding that the Kashmir issue remains an unfinished agenda of the partition of the subcontinent.
Syedaal Khan also urged the international community to play an effective role in resolving longstanding disputes, such as Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, to ensure lasting peace.
