Belarus’ Internal Affairs Ministry to enhance cooperation with Vietnam

MINSK, Oct 27 (BelTA/APP): During an official visit of a delegation of the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry to Vietnam, Minister Ivan Kubrakov met with Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Public Security Department Mai Hoang on 26 October, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry.

The parties discussed the exchange of delegations and experts, the prompt provision of requested information, the holding of joint events, and other forms of cooperation aimed at enhancing the professionalism of the two countries’ services.

“The Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry has extensive experience working with foreign colleagues. We are ready to provide opportunities for the training of Vietnamese police officers at the educational institutions and units of our department,” Ivan Kubrakov said.

A memorandum of understanding was signed at the meeting between the Ho Chi Minh City Province Public Security Department and the Internal Affairs Department of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee.

“We are interested in studying advanced international experience in combating transnational organized crime, extremism, terrorism, drug trafficking, and illegal migration, as well as in ensuring public order. In turn, the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry is ready to share its own developments and technologies,” the minister emphasized. He is convinced that the signed memorandum will serve as a foundation for new projects and initiatives between the regions.

The Vietnamese colleagues expressed interest in training their staff in Belarus and purchasing personal protective equipment, public security equipment, and other goods for law enforcement agencies manufactured by Belarusian producers.

“Our department aims to expand the areas of interaction with Vietnamese colleagues and is open to communication on all fronts,” Ivan Kubrakov said.
