RAWALPINDI, Oct 26 (APP): Like other parts of the country, Black Day will be observed in Murree on Monday, October 27 to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
According to the district administration, various events being organized to mark the day.
A solidarity rally will be held from GPO Chowk, where officers and staff of the district administration, along with members of civil society will participate in large numbers.
A one-minute silence will also be observed to honor the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people.
Special programs will be held in educational institutions to highlight the importance of the day, while black flags have been hoisted at different locations across the district to symbolize support for the oppressed people of Kashmir.
It is worth mentioning that on October 27, 1947, Indian forces illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and since then, Pakistanis and Kashmiris around the world have been observing this day as Black Day. The observance aims to remind the international community of India’s unlawful occupation and its continued use of force to suppress the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
