2200 liters adulterated milk discarded during crackdown

RAWALPINDI, Oct 26 (APP): Punjab Food Authority (PFA) carried out early morning operations across the Rawalpindi Division against the sale and supply of substandard milk.
According to a PFA spokesperson, 2,200 liters of water-mixed adulterated milk were discarded on the spot during the inspections.
The authority destroyed 1,000 liters in Rawalpindi, 1,000 liters in Jhelum, and 200 liters in Chakwal.
The operations were conducted at the entry and exit points of Rawalpindi, Chakwal, and Jhelum districts.
Additionally, fines worth Rs196,000 were imposed on milk suppliers found violating quality standards.
In total, 29 milk-carrying vehicles containing 76,000 liters of milk were inspected.
The spokesperson added that milk tankers across the region are being checked on a daily basis to ensure quality and hygiene.
The public has been urged to report any complaints or suspicions regarding adulterated milk to the PFA helpline 1223.
