LAHORE, Oct 25 (APP):Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan on Saturday said that the government,under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has demonstrated a strong commitment to serving people during natural disasters.
He added that the recent flood relief efforts were a reflection of the government’s resolve to protect lives, livelihoods, and dignity of the affected population.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony organized for the distribution of relief assistance among flood-affected families.
A total of 1,500 families were provided food items and essential supplies as part of the ongoing humanitarian assistance.
Rana Mashhood said that when floods hit the region,local representatives and administration were present among the people day and night to provide help and ensure safety.“When our area was submerged by floods,we did not leave the people alone. We stood with them in the field, providing relief,rescuing families and taking care of both humans and animals,”he said.
The chairman lauded the efforts of the federal and provincial governments for their effective coordination and timely response during the floods.“At the federal level, Prime Minister(PM) Shehbaz Sharif personally supervised relief operations, while Chief Minister(CM)Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif ensured swift on-ground action and delivery of aid in all affected districts,”he added.
Rana Mashhood appreciated the continued generosity of the UAE government and its people,describing them as “true and time-tested friends of Pakistan.”he said,“We are deeply grateful to the leadership of the United Arab Emirates for extending help to our flood-hit families.Their cooperation reflects the spirit of brotherhood and humanity that binds our two nations.” He emphasized that the relief assistance included food staples, household items, and other essentials required for daily living.“We are ensuring that every family receives what they truly need to sustain themselves during this difficult time,” he stated.
Highlighting Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen international partnerships for humanitarian causes,Rana Mashhood said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s diplomatic outreach has united the global community in standing with Pakistan during natural calamities. “The world has witnessed Pakistan’s sincerity and resolve in helping its own people, and that spirit has inspired others to join hands with us,” he noted.
The Chairman said that the government will continue its rehabilitation and reconstruction initiatives in flood-affected areas until the complete recovery of all affected families. “This is not just about rebuilding homes, it is about restoring lives and hope,” he said. He added that the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme remains committed to empowering youth to take an active role in community service, especially in times of crisis, saying, “Serving humanity is our shared responsibility, and today’s event is a powerful example of collective compassion and unity.”
