LAHORE, Oct 24 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that achieving the target of 100 per cent eradication of polio set by the government is a collective national mission that requires the full cooperation of every citizen.
In her message on the occasion of World Polio Day on Friday, the Chief Minister emphasized that the health and future of children can only be secured through the complete elimination of this crippling disease.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that public cooperation is crucial for achieving the goal of a polio-free society. She stressed that refusal to administer polio drops to children is, in fact, a denial of their healthy and prosperous future.
The Chief Minister paid rich tribute to polio workers, describing them as the nation’s heroes for their tireless and dedicated efforts in the fight against the disease.
She further underscored that the anti-polio vaccine is completely safe, effective, and essential for protecting children from lifelong disability.
Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed the government’s firm commitment to ensuring that no child in Punjab remains deprived of the life-saving polio drops.
