LAHORE, Oct 24 (APP):The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) on the directions of the Punjab government has brought the vibrant colors of Punjab’s cultural heritage to life with the successful organization of “Khedan Lahore Diyan” at the historic Shalimar Gardens on Friday.
The lively event drew enthusiastic participation from families, youth and heritage lovers who enjoyed an afternoon filled with nostalgia, laughter, and traditional Punjabi fun, said a press release issued here.
The initiative, held from 2PM to 5PM, celebrated Punjab’s centuries-old recreational spirit through a series of traditional games such as ‘Latto, Guddi Gudda ki Shaadi, Marbles (Kanchay), Stappu, Pitho Gol Garam, Bandar Killa, Kokla Chapaki, Tug-of-War (Rasa Kashi), Kabbadi, Chousar and Bara Teni.’
The scenic lawns of Shalimar gardens echoed with cheers and applause as participants of all ages relived the playful traditions once common in Lahore’s neighborhoods and villages.
WCLA Director General Najmus Saqib said, “Through ‘Khedan Lahore Diyan,’ we are reconnecting our people with their cultural identity in a joyful way. The Walled City of Lahore Authority, under the guidance of the Punjab government, will continue organizing such heritage-based activities to promote both recreation and cultural revival.”
