ISLAMABAD, Oct 23 (APP):Top seed Mikaeel Ali Baig of Pakistan has qualified for the final of the ITF Pakistan International J-30 Junior Tennis Championships-2025 leg-1, at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex here Thursday.
Mikaeel beat Ippei Matsushima of Japan in a well-contested three-set match, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 and qualified for the final.
A large number of junior tennis players from across the globe are participating in this prestigious tournament. Countries represented include China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the host nation, Pakistan.
Boys Singles Semifinal: Mikaeel Ali Baig (PAK) beat Ippei Matsushima (JPN) 2-6,6-4,6-4; Kristijonas Milasaukas (LTU) beat Timur Gordeev (RUS) 6-3,7-6(2).
Girls Singles Quarterfinals: Mingxi Qu (CHN) beat Serife Pelin Sari (TUR) 6-2,6-4; Zihan Feng (CHN) beat Varvara Rubtsova (RUS) 6-2,6-2; Yewon Lee (KOR) beat Deniz Cakil (TUR) 6-1,5-7,6-1; Ecrin Lal Yavuz (TUR) beat Praewa Ayuthaya (THA) 6-0,6-3.
Boys Doubles Semifinals: Mikaeel Ali Baig (PAK), Timur Gordeev (RUS) beat Chanapat, Panawat (THA) 7-6(4), 6-3; Ippei Matsushima (JPN), Kristijonas Milasaukas(LTU) beat Shehryar Anees, Ahtesham Humayun (PAK) 6-0,6-3.
Girls Doubles Semifinals: Serife Pelin Sari(TUR), Deniz Cakil (TUR) beat Nimah Grant (GBR), Bismal Zia (PAK) 6-0,6-1; Mingxi Qu (CHN), Zihan Feng (CHN) beat Amna Ali Qayum (PAK), Varvara Rubtsova (RUS) 6-1,6-2.
