UAF holds Agrifest 2025

FAISALABAD, Oct 23 (APP):The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) staged one-day Zarai Mela (Agrifest) 2025 here on Thursday to showcase modern agricultural tools, agricultural and livestock technologies and smart farming equipment designed to revolutionize the farming sector.
Agritourism Club of Senior Tutor Office UAF arranged the agrifest which drew a huge crowd of farmers, students and agri-entrepreneurs to explore advancements shaping the future of agriculture in Pakistan.
Addressing the concluding session, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Zulfiqar Ali said that it the ritual of the varsity to hold Agri fest to strengthen its linkage with farming community, industry and society.
He was of the view that it also helps promote the latest technologies as a step towards per acre productivity increment.
He said that the university was taking all possible measures to address the agricultural challenges with trained manpower, tangible research work, outreach and academia-industry linkages.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Punjab Charity Commission Col. (Rtd.) Shahzad Amir, CTO Nasir Javed, Dean Agriculture Dr Ghulam Murtaza, Dean Animal Husbandry Dr Qamar Bilal, Dean Sciences Dr Amer Jamil; Dean Social Sciences Dr Waqas Wakil, Dean Veterinary  Sciences Dr Shahid Mehmood, Dean Food Sciences Dr Imran Pasha, Dean Art & Humanities Dr Shazia Ramzan, Dr Riaz Virk, Dr Waseem Akram, Dr Abdul Nasir, Dr Asif Kamran, Dr Babar Shahbaz, Dr Shoukat Ali, Dr Umair Gull and others witnessed the fest held  at University’s D-ground.
Col. (Rtd.) Shahzad Amir lauded the fest saying that strong linkages between academia, industry, farming community and other stakeholders will help cope with different issues.
As a nation, we have to lend the helping hands to the oppressed segment of the society, he added.
CTO Nasir Javed appreciated the efforts of UAF for organizing Zarai Mela. Such events play a vital role in bridging the gap between farmers, researchers and industry for sustainable agricultural growth, he added.
Dr Ghulam Murtaza said that agricultural transformation lies in adopting scientific innovations and technologies.
He emphasized that the university is actively bridging the gap between traditional farming and smart agriculture through research, training and public outreach.
Dr Qamar Bilal said that by bringing technology to the field, we can increase productivity, ensure sustainability and empower our farmers with knowledge.
He also highlighted the significance of adopting modern livestock management practices.
He urged farmers to actively engage with new tools that enhance agricultural and livestock.
