ISLAMABAD, Oct 23 (APP):Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired a high-level meeting at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters on Thursday to review ongoing and upcoming development projects in the federal capital.
During the session, a key decision was made to appoint dedicated Project Directors for each major development initiative. Minister Naqvi said that the appointment of separate directors for individual projects would significantly improve the pace and quality of progress, ensuring timely completion.
“Each Project Director will be personally responsible for the timely and quality completion of their respective projects,” Mohsin Naqvi emphasized.
The meeting also discussed plans to revitalize the Gandhara Citizen Club, which will offer a range of sports and recreational facilities to the public. Officials decided that the club would provide better and more diverse amenities than the existing clubs in the city.
Minister Naqvi announced that the revamped Gandhara Club would feature modern attractions such as Top Golf and Go-Karting tracks, making it a standout recreational hub in the capital.
“Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the new Gandhara Club will become a central landmark of Islamabad,” the Interior Minister stated.
Officials briefed the minister that the topographic survey of Gandhara Club has already been completed.
The meeting further reviewed progress on the construction of the new Convention Centre, with the minister directing officials to present a comprehensive development plan for the project.
Naqvi also instructed the CDA to prepare an alternative plan for the CDA Hospital, ensuring improved medical facilities for CDA employees.
Other development updates included the extension of Margalla Road to the Motorway, development of various residential sectors, and the construction of hotels and a cricket stadium.
Minister Naqvi directed authorities to accelerate the pace of all ongoing projects to meet deadlines and uphold quality standards.
