SARGODHA, Oct 23 (APP):Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Health Authority Dr. Sarah Safdar, on Thursday issued a public advisory regarding the health hazards of smog as winter begins.
She warned that the increasing air pollution could cause severe eye irritation, reduce visibility, and is extremely dangerous for individuals with respiratory and lung diseases, potentially even causing death.
Talking to APP,Dr Sarah Safdar urged citizens to take precautions, including drinking plenty of water, staying indoors, keeping windows closed, using a wet cloth for cleaning, and wearing masks and glasses if going outside.
She also advised washing eyes after travel, avoiding very cold drinks, sprinkling water on dusty areas, and ensuring vehicles are inspected for smoke emissions.
District Focal Person Shehzad Gill and the District Health Officer were also present.
