Cultural cooperation between Uzbekistan, Türkiye discussed in Istanbul

TASHKENT, Oct 23 (UzA/APP) : A meeting was held in Istanbul, Türkiye, between Kabuljon Sabirov, Director of the Center for Public Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Uzbekistan, Çokay Koçar, Chairman of the Uzbekistan Culture, Solidarity and Cooperation Society, and Barbaros Büyüksağnak, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
In the course of the conversation, Mr. Sabirov spoke in detail about the activities of the SCO Center for Public Diplomacy, as well as about international cultural and educational projects being implemented under its auspices.
Barbaros Büyüksağnak highly praised the Center’s activities and expressed his readiness to implement joint initiatives aimed at strengthening cultural ties between the two brotherly countries.
The parties discussed issues related to the development of cultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, the effective use of the potential of twin cities, the expansion of cultural exchange programs, and the strengthening of friendly relations between the two peoples.
Following the meeting, the participants discussed initiatives to develop partnership not only in the cultural, but also in the scientific sphere – in particular, the publication of a book of Turkic proverbs, the release of collections of scientific research by young scholars, and the enhancement of cooperation between analytical and research centers.
