Ali Pervaiz holds high-level meetings on sidelines of IMARC 2025

ISLAMABAD, Oct 23 (APP):Federal Minister for Energy (Petroleum Division) Ali Pervaiz Malik held a series of high-level meetings on the sidelines of the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) 2025, held in Sydney.
According to a news release, the minister held a productive meeting with Engr. Khalid Al-Mudaifer, Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The minister appreciated the longstanding friendship and unwavering support of Saudi Arabia and invited Saudi investors and businessmen to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan’s energy and minerals sectors.
Ali Pervaiz also met Diana Janse, State Secretary for International Development and Cooperation of Sweden, to discuss avenues of mutual cooperation and potential investment in Pakistan’s minerals sector. Both sides expressed their intent to further deepen collaboration in mining and resource development.
In another engagement, the minister met Benjamin Gallezot, Interministerial Delegate for Strategic Minerals and Metals Supply at the Prime Minister’s Office, France.
Discussions focused on technological cooperation and the integration of advanced tools such as data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) in the mining and minerals industry. Both sides agreed to explore joint initiatives aimed at promoting innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in resource development.
Ali Pervaiz Malik also invited all partners to participate in the upcoming Pakistan Mineral Investment Forum, scheduled to be held next year.
Separately, the minister met with members of the Pakistani business community at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Sydney.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Australia, Irfan Shaukat, and Consul General and Trade Commissioner, Qamar Zaman, also attended the meeting.
The minister lauded the vital role of overseas Pakistanis in strengthening Pakistan’s economy and promoting trade and investment linkages with Australia.
He highlighted the government’s ongoing reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business and attracting investment in key sectors, particularly energy and minerals.
Malik briefed the participants on Pakistan’s emerging potential in mining, critical minerals, and renewable energy, encouraging diaspora entrepreneurs to explore new opportunities in these areas.
Members of the business community appreciated the government’s efforts to promote sustainable economic growth and reaffirmed their commitment to contribute to Pakistan’s development through investment and partnerships.
Meanwhile, Naveed Naqvi, Operations Manager of the World Bank for the Pacific Region, called on Ali Pervaiz Malik at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Sydney. He briefed the minister on various World Bank initiatives in the Pacific region.
The minister apprised him of the reform agenda being pursued by the government of Pakistan and the resulting stabilization of the national economy, which has also been validated by the recent improvement in Pakistan’s credit ratings.
