RAWALPINDI, Oct 23 (APP):Murree witnesses zero dengue cases in the last 10 days as a result of intensified dengue preventive measures by the district administration.
Following special instructions from Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi, the district administration and health department teams have ramped up coordinated and effective operations to eradicate dengue.
According to the details, CEO Health Dr. Azhar Mahmood Abbasi conducted a detailed visit of the Angoori and Trait areas in Tehsil Murree, where he reviewed anti-dengue activities, fogging operations, and inspections for mosquito larvae in homes.
Meanwhile, teams comprising Tehsil Health Inspectors, dengue focal persons (Legal) and entomologists carried out surveillance in various parts of Misiyari, Nambal, and Murree City, during which two locations homes and shops were sealed for violations of dengue SOPs.
Dr. Zulfiqar Satti, Deputy District Officer Health Murree too, along with health team, inspected multiple sites. Entomologist teams completed indoor residual spraying (IRS) and fogging operations across several areas.
According to the Health Department a total of 118 dengue cases have been recorded in District Murree to date.
The Health Department has appealed to citizens to fully cooperate with the health teams, ensure no stagnant water accumulates in their homes, shops, or surroundings and maintain strict cleanliness to facilitate the complete elimination of dengue.
Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi said that public cooperation is the most crucial element in preventing dengue.
