ISLAMABAD, Oct 22 (APP):Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting cultural heritage and sustainable tourism through stronger regional cooperation and public-private partnerships.
The Minister, along with former Punjab Minister Muhammad Janzaib Khan Khichi, held a meeting with Lt. Gen. (R) Hassan Azhar Hayat, Managing Director of Green Tourism Pakistan, to discuss joint initiatives aimed at preserving cultural heritage and expanding sustainable tourism opportunities across the country.

During the meeting, the minister was briefed on several key initiatives, including the nomination of new UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Buddhist Heritage Promotion Plan, enhanced connectivity between heritage destinations, and the development of Hindu religious tourism.
Both sides agreed to strengthen collaboration between the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture and Green Tourism Pakistan to safeguard and globally promote Pakistan’s diverse cultural assets.
Aurangzeb Khichi appreciated the contributions of Green Tourism Pakistan and assured the Ministry’s full support for joint efforts dedicated to heritage conservation, cultural promotion, and tourism development nationwide.

Usman Shah, Honorary Advisor to the Federal Minister, also attended the meeting.
The participants underscored the importance of showcasing Pakistan’s cultural diversity, traditions, and natural beauty at both national and international levels. They emphasized expanding Pakistan’s cultural diplomacy and creating new avenues for sustainable tourism.
Meanwhile, Pakistan is set to participate in the upcoming Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair, in collaboration with Green Tourism Pakistan and the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture Division. The participation aims to highlight Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, traditional crafts, and tourism potential on a global stage.
Through this initiative, Pakistan seeks to strengthen bilateral relations with Bangladesh and other participating countries, fostering regional cultural exchange, cooperation, and the growth of sustainable tourism across South Asia.
